The Water Street Hotel & Marina brings together a team of development professionals with exceptionally strong credentials in their respective fields.
The development company is Apalachicola Resort development, JV – a joint venture of two LLC’s representing the principle developers Curt Blair and Jerry Thompson.
The innovative, nationally acclaimed architectural design firm of Thomas E. Pope, PA of Key West was selected to design the Water Street Hotel. This coupled with the interior design talents of Main Street Design in Quincy, Florida have made the Water Street Hotel a truly unique facility.
Curt Blair
Curt Blair has been an investor and award winning developer in Apalachicola for over ten years. Curt actively participates in the community’s future development as a licensed Realtorīĸ and mortgage broker, member of the local Planning and Zoning Board, Vice Chairman of the local hospital board of directors, and through his association with the county’s Tourist Development Council. He is also the owner and president of Allyn, Inc. a governmental consulting and management company. Curt and his wife Beth live in a one hundred year old home in Apalachicola’s historic district.
Jerry Thompson
Jerry Thompson knows real estate. With more than 33 years of experience in executive bank management positions and as a former President and CEO of an Atlanta bank, Jerry has used his finance and investment skills to become one of the top real estate producers in the United States. Since moving to the area in 1995, Jerry has been active in the community and has served on the board of directors for a number of for-profit and non-profit companies and organizations. Jerry and his wife Karen live on the bay in St. George Island Plantation.
Thomas E. Pope
Apalachicola Resort Development partnered with nationally renowned architect Thomas E. Pope, PA of Key West for the design of Water Street Hotel & Marina. This registered Florida Architectural Firm specializes in residential and commercial architecture, with an emphasis on hotels, historic restoration, house renovation and planning. The firm has designed and supervised the restoration and renovation of numerous historic homes and commercial buildings in Florida and Massachusetts. Commercial projects are primarily a mix of new construction and renovations with new additions that compliment the historic design of the original structures. The firm has won awards from the Florida Keys Historic Preservation Board and the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation for several renovations to commercial and residential buildings. Their work has been featured in South Florida Building and Home, Florida Architect, Southern Living, Florida Design, Architectural Digest and Tropic Magazine in addition to the Homes Across America series on HGTV.

Water Street Hotel Condominium Association, Inc.
The Water Street Hotel and Marina Condominium Association, Inc. is the association of homeowners that provides for the operation, maintenance, preservation and architectural control of the common elements of the development.
Water Street Management, LLC
The property’s common areas that provide hotel and support services are managed by Water Street Management, LLC under contract with the Water Street Hotel & Marina Condominium Association. In addition, the management company is available to provide management services of individual owner’s units. Management services under these agreements are operated in a hotel format in order to maximize revenues and convenience to owners. Owners, of course may contract for management of their unit by any qualified management company.
